Paris Trip | Inspiration

We made it to Paris Safe and Sound. But the weather wasn't very nice! It was sooo cold and not only cold but Snowy, Bitter Cold. Truly being from Utah we take the snow, no problem. Well France, Not so much. The whole country shut down. I am assuming the reason why they don't use salt is because the streets and sidewalks are made of either granite or marble. No joke. It is so crazy yet so beautiful to see. So with that said... This is why I LOVE PARIS!!

Coopenhagen, Denmark | Danish Antiques

I was really lucky to have tagged along with the hubby to Europe this past week. We went to Paris and I loved that place too. But I fell in love with Coopenhagen Denmark. Here's why!

The Bikes

(If I had to say one word to describe Denmark I think "Bike" would be it. They are everywhere cuz it's really expensive to get a drivers license and drive here.  Plus it makes everyone physical fit there.
Which I think is cool.)

The Colors

The Sights

(This is inside the courtyard of the palace where the Queen actually lives. View of the Cathedral)

(Historic Museum at Fredericksborg Castle in Hillerod, Denmark)

They had different wood floors in every room. It was so Cool!

The Homes

(on our tour, we were told the average beach front property costs between $6-8 million dollars.)

Waterfront

Yes that water is frozen. It was so cold the whole time we were in Europe. Not the best season to be walking around. ;)

(the Ugly Duckling ringing a bell. Denmark is proud to call home to the famous Hans Christian Anderson)

Driving along the coast. On a clear day you can see Sweden. It's a mile off the coast and a 20 min boat ride.

Beautiful Antiques

I was dying not only were they expensive. (everything in Europe is expensive) But I would of had to pay for mega shipping costs. Such a bummer. If only I was a millionaire. ;)

And last but not least. The FOOD and THE PEOPLE are amazing. I had the best Veggie sandwich at this little cafe. There breads and cheese are to dye for. The people are all so friendly. Plus they all know English very well! They start learning English in the 3rd grade. So cool!

Has anyone else been to Denmark and fell in love with it?

Before & After | 70's Double Ovens Spraypainted

As I promised. Here are the after pics of my True Vintage 70's Double Ovens. ( Hey, they still work perfectly) We used Rustoleoum (sp) dark Silver. I say dark cuz they did have a lighter silver but we did the darker one. Also, I think we got it at Lowes.

What do you think? Not to bad, huh!? Even though it was a cheap fix. I love how they blend into the kitchen now, rather then stand out screaming... I AM OLD and UGLY. Now I can say they are PRETTY!!

What we did exactly.

  • Removed the metal panel covers.

  • If you look... You can see we took off the dark brown paneling. Then sanded the metal a bit to rough it up.

  • Sprayed I think 3 coats of paint. (Let dry for 3 days at a time. Then placed it in the sun to help cure faster, since it's metal.)

  • Then changed out the hard ware. (Ikea Pulls) It's not my dream kitchen so I didn't splurge on the hardware.

Warmer Days Are Coming!

I can't wait for warmer weather. We have been getting a little warmer here in Utah. Here's to Spring! Coming sooner rather then later, hopefully. ;)

Painting Appliances

A bit of inspiration, while at the moment my ( 70's ) double oven doors are drying! Eventually I will replace my ovens but, for now they still work great! So why replace it, right? My husband did say, "Europe or New Double Ovens? Hmm... Definitely, Europe! We leave in like 1 week. Woo Hoo!! So even though they are not new double ovens. They are getting a $15 face lift with new paint and hardware.

Have you ever saved money on your appliances with just Paint?? Even though it saves you money. I wouldn't do it to ALL the appliances in a kitchen. Just one to hide it, basically.

Here are a few people that I think succeeded in saving a dime!
